Suzanne Sherman Propp -- Biography



Suzanne Sherman Propp is a singer-songwriter. She plays the guitar, violin, piano and recorder and loves to sing.

She grew up in a fabulously supportive family in Westport, CT and attended Westport schools. Suzanne was a cheerleader at Staples as well as an Orphenian and a member of the Staples Players and the Chamber Orchestra.

Suzanne spent her summers at Camp Pembroke in Pembroke, MA and went to Colgate University where she studied English & Music. There she sang in the Swinging 'Gates and was the leader of the group in 1984-85. She also played violin in the Colgate Symphony Orchestra and shared a stand with renowned violinist Felix Eyle.

Following college, she worked for one year at the Alta Lodge, in Alta, Utah and then moved to New York City where she landed her dream job at GRP Records, a jazz label. She worked as the Director of Production and International Distribution for 4 years before she received her MBA at Columbia University Graduate School of Business.  She later worked at Columbia House and then as the tour marketing manager for Joan Baez at The Mark Spector Company.

She is now a general music teacher and choral director at Green's Farms School in Westport, CT. A few years ago she was a finalist for Westport's "Teacher of the Year".

She lives in Westport with her husband Peter and two wonderful children.
